Join us on the annual Birds of the Marsh Tour

 
Leaders: Katie Doyle, wildlife biologist with Division of Forestry and Wildlife and Ka’imi
Scudder geographer with Ahahui Malama i ka Lokahi.
 
Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014 (8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
 
Learn about Hawaii’s endangered waterbirds and the efforts to restore the Kawainui,
Hamakua and Kaelepulu wetlands.
 
The tour will visit sites around Hamakua and Kawainui Wildlife Sanctuaries, and Kaelepulu wetlands. Other stops will be at Na Pohaku o Hauwahine to look at the volunteer-created wetland bird restoration project and the Corps of Engineers project in the upper marsh.
 
This natural history tour is co-sponsored by Ahahui Malama i ka Lokahi and the Kailua
Hawaiian Civic Club. A $10.00 donation is requested. We will car-pool between sites.
